Community speaks out against County Grounds land sale
The Journal Sentinel covered today's County Board meeting concerning the proposed sale of 72 acres of County Grounds land to UWM for a new engineering campus.
Many commmunity members attended the meeting to speak out against the sale of land, which would encroach on protected natural area.
Erika Voss, long-time Riverkeeper member and volunteer, and participant in our Senior Water Advocate Network, was quoted in the article:
"Nature needs that land. We don't need to build there," said Erica Voss.
Despite concerns about the land sale, the panel voted 4-2 to recommend the land sale to the full county board.
