Support LRB 1401/1: Limit Spread of Invasive Species

Invasive species have the ability to change aquatic systems and the plants and animals that live in them by shading out native plant species or by consuming plants and animals that fish rely on for food.

They can literally choke the life out of our lakes and waters. LRB 1401/1 would protect our waterways and the native species that live there by limiting the spread of invasive species. The bill, which is modeled after several county ordinances, would give the DNR more ability to limit the transportation of invasive species from one water body to another.

Support LRB 0892/1: Keep it Clean

While some Wisconsin residents invest significant time and resources into cleaning up our natural habitat for all to enjoy, others are disrespectfully abandoning large waste items in public spaces. LRB 0892/1 creates a greater disincentive to litter, by increasing the fines for those who choose to violate littering laws. In addition to helping to reduce the amount of large abandoned items like sofas and refrigerators in common areas, the bill may also help to increase state revenues.
