Arts
and the Rivers Contest
Milwaukee Riverkeeper is proud to announce the
first Arts and the Rivers Contest. To celebrate our
rivers, we are seeking visual works that convey the
beauty and importance of our waterways in an
artistically meaningful way. Content of the work must
connect in some way to the Kinnickinnic, Menomonee,
and/or Milwaukee rivers.
The contest is funded by Shirley Holzer Jeffrey, a
long-time Milwaukee Riverkeeper board member and
accomplished photographer. Shirley's work can be
viewed at

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS:
December 1, 2008, 5:00 pm
PRIZES
> First Place $500
> Second Place $250
> Third Place $125
> Fourth Place $75
GUIDELINES
> Submission deadline is
December 1, 2008 by 5:00 pm.
> Submitted works must be
drawings, paintings, prints or photographs of any size
up to 48" x 48"
> Each artist may submit
UP TO THREE images.
> Please send digital
copies of your submissions to Paul Schwarzkopf -
pschwarzkopf (at) milwaukeeriverkeeper.com. Each
submission should be accompanied by a completed
Submission Form.
Digital images should be UNDER 1MB in size.
> Finalists must submit
pieces ready-to-hang by January 7, 2009 to Milwaukee
Riverkeeper - 1845 N. Farwell Avenue, Suite 100,
Milwaukee.
> Awards will be judged
from actual work and announced at a reception on Gallery
Night, January 16, 2009 at Milwaukee Environmental
Consortium (1845 N. Farwell Avenue, Suite 100,
Milwaukee).

EXHIBITION OF WORK
Works will be displayed at the Milwaukee
Environmental Consortium office, 1845 N. Farwell Avenue,
Suite 100, Milwaukee. The
artists will be able to label artwork for sale if they
choose. After the display period, the artists will
arrange to retrieve their work.
