Milwaukee River Corridor Project

Decision makers and landowners' page

As part of the Corridor Project, FMR plans to meet with government officials, citizens, and organizations in Milwaukee River Basin communities to discuss sound land use planning, water quality concerns, and habitat preservation along corridors.  FMR will also advocate that governments and other organizations make use of the Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission’s (SEWRPC) Natural Areas Plan in their land use decisions and management planning.  From these meetings we hope to discover “champions” who are passionate advocates for water quality, habitat protection, and sound land use.  These champions will speak for the watershed from a new perspective, which recognizes that they are part of a larger system, rather than at the center of a system.  Please call 414.287.0207 x29 for more information on the Corridor Project or to set up a meeting.

Does your community have a riparian buffer, river corridor protection, or natural resource conservancy ordinance or overlay district??  Find out below!

What's happening in your community

(Spreadsheet is a work in progress and reflects information available online or that was sent to us directly by municipalities.  We welcome updates from municipalities themselves or interested citizens.)

Does your community have a natural area or environmental corridor recommended for protection by SEWRPC??  See links below!
