Milwaukee Riverkeeper Program - Our Milwaukee Riverkeeper, Cheryl Nenn, patrols the river and resolves pollution and runoff problems.


River Cleanups - Our river cleanups engage hundreds of volunteers each year.


Milwaukee Urban Water Trail - Milwaukee's first paddling guide for canoe and kayak users.

Citizen-Based Water Quality Monitoring - Citizen volunteers are monitoring their local streams and rivers to collect data on water quality and river health.

 

Legal Advocacy - Friends of Milwaukee's Rivers and Alliance for the Great Lakes have taken MMSD to federal court over a series of sewage dumpings.

 

Stormwater - We work to control the negative effects of stormwater runoff through advocacy, education and restoration.


Going with the Flow
- A stormwater pollution education program for middle school students.

West Bend Airport Expansion - Expansion of this airport would destroy nearly 150 acres of high quality wetlands along the river.


Milwaukee River Corridor Project - A comprehensive watershed outreach effort to promote the importance of natural areas and river corridors in protecting water quality and wildlife habitat.

 

Milwaukee County Grounds - In 1997, the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors proposed selling the Northeast Quadrant of the County Grounds.


Urban Wilderness - Through photography and narrative text Urban Wilderness documents current conditions in the Menomonee River.
