Like many
other groups throughout the Great Lakes, Friends of Milwaukee’s
Rivers (FMR) is grappling with how to best address non-point source
pollution of our local waterways—the Milwaukee, Menomonee, and
Kinnickinnic Rivers, which drain to Lake Michigan. The strategies
addressing stormwater pollution must be as diverse as the sources
and types of pollutants threatening our waters. To that end, FMR is
addressing stormwater through a combination of advocacy, education,
and management:
